Stephanie Simpson

Stephanie is a speech-language pathologist from Jonesboro who recently relocated to Northwest Arkansas with her husband, James, to work at our Farmington location. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR, in 2013. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders, in 2014, at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Stephanie worked in a variety of settings during her clinical rotations including public schools, preschools, nursing home facilities, university clinics and private practice. Stephanie interned at Miracle Kids Success Academy in Jonesboro, a sister company to Kids Unlimited Learning Academy, where she determined early intervention to be her ultimate passion. She has treated a variety of speech-language disorders but she especially enjoys language therapy, helping children gain the fundamentals for communication and language development, which includes vocabulary, basic concepts, grammar, social skills and many additional components. Stephanie is passionate about communicating with parents and families about their child’s goals addressed in therapy. She believes it is so important that caregivers be informed of areas that their child is working on so that carryover, or generalization of these goals, is experienced in multiple contexts. Doing so not only strengthen’s her relationship with families, but it helps the child experience progress two-fold. In Stephanie’s spare time, she enjoys traveling and seeing new places, but most of all, she loves spending quality time with her husband and their family. Stephanie is actively involved in her church, specifically volunteering weekly in children’s ministry. Stephanie said, “I can’t deny, I love watching kids grow and learn!”

Mallory Causey

Mallory was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders at Arkansas State University in May, 2014, and a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders in December, 2015. She and her husband love Northwest Arkansas, and wanted to live close to the Arkansas Razorbacks, so they moved to Fayetteville after her college graduation. Mallory gained clinical experience for two years as an intern at the Arkansas State University Speech and Hearing Clinic, Brookland Elementary School and Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She began working at Kids Unlimited in December, 2015. Mallory loves making speech therapy an active engagement so it is meaningful and applicable to children’s everyday lives and she is constantly trying to discover new ways to make that possible. Her favorite area of speech-language therapy is feeding therapy. Feeding is primary and vital for all other development to occur. It is a field in which Mallory has a great interest because of its challenging nature and its importance for family congruence. What excites her the most about her work and the contribution she can make is providing a loving, fun and comfortable environment for children to foster their development. In her spare time, Mallory loves spending time with her family and her Golden Doodle, Zorro. She loves to be outside hiking, kayaking and running. She also loves to read books right before the movies are released and she loves playing and/or watching volleyball whenever she gets the chance. Before moving to Northwest Arkansas, Mallory volunteered as a 6th grade intramural volleyball coach and she did volunteer work with The American Cancer Society. Now that she has moved to Northwest Arkansas, she hopes to find new opportunities to volunteer her time.

Mallory has been trained in the Picture Exchange Communications System (PECS), which allows children who have little or no communication abilities a means of communicating non-verbally. Children using PECS are taught to approach another person and give them a picture of a desired item in exchange for that item. After intensive therapy, children can use PECS to communicate a request, a thought, or anything that can reasonably be displayed or symbolized on a picture card.

Andrea Dixon

Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science in Education specializing in Communication Disorders and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Arkansas. Andrea came to love language therapy after watching her younger brother overcome a severe language delay as a toddler. Her brother was able to work past his speech delay to go on to have an extremely successful academic career that eventually led him to law school. His success inspired Andrea to want to help other children achieve their goals and dreams. Andrea has a strong desire to have a lasting impact on the lives of her patients. She believes that communication is a skill that is often taken for granted. She believes that teaching patients how to effectively communicate will aid in their independence. The thought of being able to help children achieve that independence brings a smile to Andrea’s face.

In her spare time, Andrea volunteers with Miracle League of Northwest Arkansas. She also enjoys babysitting, being active in her church, and spending time with friends and family. Andrea also competes in half-marathons and marathons.
